Missing in Action: The Real Reason Harry Kane Wasn’t at Bayern Munich’s Oktoberfest Shoot

England’s captain, Harry Kane, was notably absent from Bayern Munich’s lively Oktoberfest photoshoot that took place on a Tuesday.

Kane, who recently made a move from Tottenham to the German champions, marked his Bundesliga debut with a goal and an assist just last Friday.

However, when it came time for Bayern’s traditional Oktoberfest festivities, Kane was nowhere to be seen.

The team typically dresses up in charming Lederhosen attire, embracing the Bavarian custom, and poses with a Paulaner brewery beer—a partnership that has been ongoing since 2003.

The reason for Kane’s absence was heartwarming—he was celebrating the birth of his fourth child. While the Munich Oktoberfest hadn’t quite begun yet, the Bayern players were already getting into the spirit of the ‘Wiesn,’ the local term for the festival.

The annual Lederhosen photoshoot, held at Munich Nockherberg, saw the players trading in their jerseys for the traditional Bavarian outfits.

Among the participants were new signings Minjae Kim, Raphael Guerreiro, and Konrad Laimer, who effortlessly donned their outfits, complete with jackets and Haferl shoes.

Kane, however, was unable to attend due to his joyful family occasion.

Reflecting on the occasion, Bayern’s coach Thomas Tuchel shared a glimpse of his own past, mentioning, “It’s been a while since I last wore lederhosen, but I have childhood photos where I’m sporting the classic ‘drop fly’ lederhosen!”

In this way, Kane’s absence from the Oktoberfest snapshots was heartwarming in its cause, reminding us that life’s most precious moments sometimes take center stage, even in the midst of lively celebrations.
